Siloxane Based Water Repellent
Sealclear™ is a siloxane based impregnating agent that provides ideal waterproofing protection for both new and existing concrete and masonry. Sealclear™ is a water borne product. The water barrier is created by the thorough impregnation of the open pores of the substrate, thereby acting as a water repellent, but at the same time allowing passage of water vapor.
Uses
Sealclear™ is recommended as an external masonry and cement water repellent for vertical and horizontal surfaces. It is particularly suitable for highly alkaline surfaces such as: brick walls, concrete, stucco, limestone, natural and synthetic stone (for horizontal applications use 15% solids formula).
Advantages
- Prevents mildew, surface staining, lime leaching and salt efflorenscence
- Chemically bonds to substrate and will not break down even under harsh UV conditions
- Allows substrate to breathe and won?t trap moisture
- Dries completely clear and will not leave a glossy finish
- Low molecular weight which provides excellent penetration depth making it ideally suited for areas subject to abrasion such as patios, walkways and pavers
- Great alkaline resistance allows the product to be applied to new construction
- Dries tack free and will not retain dirt.
Surface Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are cleaned to remove loose deposits, mildew growth and paint. All surfaces must be oil and grease free. Repair all cracks and faults in the substrate before treatment. Substrate needs to be dry before application. Moisture will impair penetration of Sealclear™.
Application
It is advisable to treat the entire surface and not patch as this prevents water finding new points of entry at the edges of the treated surface. Stir or shake the contents of the container well before using. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Ensure Sealclear™ floods the surface completely so as to produce a run down freely on the substrate. Use a pressure of less than 5 psi to avoid misting. Apply 2 coats for maximum protection. Sealclear™ will reach full cure at about 24 hours after the last coat is applied, at an ambient temberature of 75˚F.
Cleaning
Use water to remove Sealclear™ from brushes and spray equipment. Use Quickclean™ to clean cured material.
Precautions
Do not allow Sealclear™ to come in contact with glass surfaces as it will cause streaking. Sealclear™ is not designed for waterproofing in areas of substantial hydrostatic pressure.
Always do a test area prior to commencing application to ensure that no discoloration occurs.
