Cementitious Waterproofer and Primer
Sealoment Plus™ when mixed with water forms a paintable coating which can be used as a primer or rigid waterproofer
for masonry surfaces.
Uses
- For waterproofing and case hardening of cellular lightweight concrete
- A negative head waterproofer on masonry walls and floors in basements
- Sealoment Plus™ will prevent dusting and improve the adhesion of subsequent coatings
- As a coating for concrete decks, walkways, driveways
- As primer for Wearcoat™ or Coraflex™ for on grade concrete and floors
- As a waterproofing filler and primer for concrete block walls prior to the application of Sealcoat Elastic™ or Coraflex™.
Advantages
- Resists negative hydrostatic pressure
- Provides hard abrasion resistant surface
- Easy to mix and apply
- Non-Toxic
- Excellent adhesion
- Vapor permeable
- Economical
- Hardens and waterproofs surface of cellular lightweight concrete
- Applies easily with roller or brush
- Excellent primer for on grade concrete
Mixing
Ensure that bags of Sealoment Plus™ have not been lying in the sun. Hot or warm product will shorten pot life of the mixture. Prepare Sealoment Plus™ by measuring 1 gallon of water and 2 gallons of Sealoment Plus™ powder. Pour about 60% of the water into a clean 5 gallon container. Add the measured Sealoment Plus™ powder while mixing with a power mixer. Blend to a smooth, stiff, creamy consistency. Continue mixing and add balance of the water to achieve a liquid paintable consistency. Smaller quantities can be mixed by using the following volumetric mix:
1 part Water
2 parts Sealoment Plus™
Surface Preparation
Remove all dirt, oil, grease, and loose particles. Clean Surface. Saturate the surface with clean water prior to primer application. However, ensure that there is no standing water on surface at the time of application of Sealoment Plus™.
Application
Using brush, roller or hopper gun apply one generous coat of Sealoment Plus™ to surface. For uses other than priming, apply at least two coats of Sealoment Plus™.
Allow 1st coat to harden sufficiently before applying second coat.
NOTE: When applying Sealoment Plus™ over joints or at different architectural surfaces, e.g. at vertical and horizontal joints, Sealoment Plus™ will not offer full waterproofing benefits. To waterproof areas such as these, use the Sealoflex Waterproofing System™ or the Sealoflex CT™ System.
Curing
In dry or hot conditions mist with clean water after initial set for the first 24 hours.
Cleaning
Clean all brushes, tools and equipment immediately with water.

Coverage
A 50# bag of Sealoment Plus™, will cover approximately 300 sq.ft. as a primer or 250 sq.ft. as a coating.
NOTE: Coverage rate can vary depending upon the porosity of the surface. Rough concrete surfaces such as a broom brushed finish or split face block will need additional Sealoment Plus™ resulting in a lower coverage rate. It is recommended that a test area be conducted over such rough surfaces to calculate product coverage.
Limitations
Waterproofing ability to prepainted basement walls is limited due to the bond of the existing paint to the block wall surface. Best results are achieved with application directly to masonry surface.
