2-Component Epoxy Sealer
Dampseal 101™ is a deep penetrating, low viscosity, 100% solids, two-component epoxy sealer designed to provide
excellent adhesion to suitably prepared concrete substrates.
Sealers containing solvents (or water)fill the voids in the concrete initially, but upon evaporation of the solvent (or water) these sealers leave these voids only partially filled.
By filling these voids, Dampseal 101™ forms a barrier to “out gassing”, a cause of blistering and delamination of subsequent coatings or coverings. Dampseal 101™ also strengthens the concrete by penetrating into its surface.
Uses
Dampseal 101™ provides the applicator with a sealer that performs under
adverse weather conditions on suitably prepared substrates. For example, the
substrate may be covered with condensation or be damp. Even when applied
to damp substrates such as dew coated concrete, Dampseal 101™ has outstanding
adhesion. Its low sensitivity to humidity makes Dampseal 101™
especially suitable for sealing concrete. Dampseal 101™ can be applied on
concrete within one week of casting, as long as the surface is free of laitance.
Advantages
• Outstanding adhesion on damp substrates such as dew covered or damp concrete.
• Low viscosity for maximum penetration and 100% solids to fill voids completely
• The capability to seal recently cast concrete provided the surface is treated to eliminate laitance and release agents
Instructions
Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be free of dust, loosely adhering particles, oil, grease and previously applied incompatible coatings.
All traces of release agents must be removed from cast concrete surfaces.
Concrete surfaces may be coated with Dampseal 101™ as soon as 7 days after casting.
Once the Dampseal 101™ has been applied to a specific area AND the Dampseal 101™ is still wet, backroll or rebrush the wet Dampseal 101™ a 2nd time. This will ensure even distribution of product due to uneven porosity.
To avoid excessive penetration on porous substrates, such as light weight concrete, apply Sealoment Plus™ at 300-ft./50-lb. bag prior to sealing with Dampseal 101™.
Refer to the Sealoment Plus™ product data sheet for mixing and application information.
Mixing
DO NOT BLEND DAMPSEAL 101A™ AND DAMPSEAL 101B™ IF THEY
HAVE BEEN STORED ABOVE 80˚F OR IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
BLENDING DAMPSEAL 101A™ AND DAMPSEAL 101B™ WHEN THEY
ARE ABOVE 80˚F WILL RESULT IN RAPID GELLATION.
Mix Dampseal 101A™ in its original container with a spiral-mixing blade on a low-speed electric drill. Slowly add the proper quantity of Dampseal 101B™ and mix five minutes. Avoid mixing air into the material.
MUST BE APPLIED WITHIN THIRTY MINUTES OF MIXING.
Application
MUST BE APPLIED AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN THE CONCRETE IS IN THE COOLING PHASE.
Dampseal 101™ may be applied by brush, roller, or squeegee.
Cleaning
Clean all tools and equipment with Quickclean™ immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Precautions
• Keep away from open flames and high heat.
• Avoid breathing vapors
• Use with adequate ventilation
• Irritant. Avoid skin and eye contact.
Safety classes and chemical-resistant gloves recommended.
• First Aid: In case of contact with skin, immediately
remove contaminated clothing and shoes and wash affected areas thoroughly with large amounts of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention. Discard or decontaminate clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes. For eye contact, immediately flush eyes with large quantities of clean running water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids apart. Seek immediate medical attention. Continue flushing for an additional 15 minutes if a physician is not immediately available.

Coverage
For Concrete: 225 to 325 ft./gal. depending on the porosity of the substrate.
NOTE: When properly applied and cured Dampseal 101™ can resist vapor pressures within the concrete. The concrete strength must exceed these pressures as well, or substrate failure may occur.
CAUTION! If there is an impermeable layer within or below the concrete surface, contact Sealoflex Technical Department for Application Requirements.
