Sealoflex Flashing Grade™ is used:
• To form flashing around penetrations, air handling units, skylights and roof to wall junctions
• To seal vertical joints on metal roofs
• As a sealer for fasteners on metal roofs.
Flashing Grade™ is a trowellable or brushable waterborne paste with good adhesion characteristics. It dries to form a flexible and waterproof membrane ideal for flashing, seaming and crackfilling.
Sealoflex Flashing Grade™ is used:
• To form flashing around penetrations, air handling units, skylights and roof to wall junctions
• To seal vertical joints on metal roofs
• As a sealer for fasteners on metal roofs.
Sealoflex Flashing Grade™ displays the following advantages:
• Easily applied with brush or trowel
• Excellent Ultraviolet resistance
• Flexible when cured
• Fast drying
• Water-based for easy cleanup
• Excellent adhesion to wood, metal, stucco, painted surfaces, concrete, brick and other surfaces
• Ultra Violet resistant
• Excellent filler over rough surfaces
Remove all oil and grease, grit and loose particles from the substrate. Prime where necessary. Refer to the Sealoflex Priming Chart.
Apply Flashing Grade™ with a brush, putty knife, or trowel. Do not apply more than 1/8” thick. When applying multiple layers, ensure that the previous layer is fully cured. Over coating with Sealoflex Finish Coat™ or Sealcoat Elastic™ can commence once the Flashing Grade is thoroughly dry. To create flashings, use 6” wide Coraflex Jointing Fabric™ symmetrically across the change in plane such that the fabric is applied 3” up the wall or penetration and 3” onto the roof. Apply a generous coat of Flashing Grade™ through the fabric ensuring that the fabric is in full contact with the surfaces below. Allow to dry. Apply a 2nd generous coat to the area. Allow to dry.
Drying time will be approximately 2 hours, depending on weather conditions.
Clean all equipment and tools immediately with water. Dried Sealoflex Flashing Grade™ can be removed with Sealoflex Quickclean™ water-soluble solvent.
• Do not apply when precipitation is imminent
• Ensure that areas where Flashing Grade™ is applied are well drained and will not pond water
• Do not apply at temperatures below 40˚F
• Do not cover with stone chips, screeds, tiles or soil
